into the wild

finished reading into the wild last night before bed. whoever has not read that book, i strongly suggest it. (there is a movie out too, so if you don't like reading, see it) i have a couple classes til one today, then i'm coming back here to make some food real quick. riding down to the train station and taking it to west trenton, where dale is going to pick me up, and we're going to see the mountain goats at nyu.. pretty much excited for that. this was my last full week of classes... classes til wednesday next week, then finals week after that. weird. read 'into the wild.'

i just got an email stating that my morning class tomorrow is cancelled... could i be happier? yes, but not much.

fresh berries for you.

the world's overrun with new shades of green,
and the dandelions come up like recurring dreams.

hump day.

according to many studies, wednesday is the most depressing day of the week. when i woke up this morning i couldn't even see the city because of all the fog and it seemed like it was going to be one of those wednesdays. but, since then i have had granola cereal and learned a new song and things are looking up. come get me, wednesday.

randolph

this weekend was really great. spent it in north jersey with simone. it was refreshing to get out of the city for a while and really get a feel of the many hued leaves of fall. we were in randolph on sunday morning... drove by my old house and then went to shongum lake (the local lake where we all used to hang out). it was a really strange feeling. i was so incredibly happy, but i had tears in my eyes. that town is intense to me. i thought i did, but sometimes i really don't want to grow up.

capital punishment.

pops and broski came to hang out in philly with simone and i on saturday. we went to the zoo, it was really great, even though the facts about all the endangered animals lessened my hope (even more) for the human race. watched the life of david gale last night with simone. (if anyone hasn't seen that, get on it). went to the art museum today and marveled over a few pieces in particular (van gogh's sunflowers and a couple monet's). simone just left, kyle should be back any minute. it's nice out, i think i'll go for a ride.

michael scott.

it's november: i fixed ali's flat tire on her bike today. moments later, it burst. the office is the best show in television, and scrubs is second. i'm going to buy a bowflex and get a "toned sexy core." black friday is 'buy nothing day.' so don't buy anything. it's only eleven and i'm going to watch the daily show and colbert report (colbert was just denied by the democratic party to run in south carolina). goodnight

sweet and sour tofu

so, dinner was really good tonight. at 9, a democratic presidential debate is going to be on msnbc... live form drexel u, a couple miles away. i don't know why i am going to bother watching the debate, i know i'm just going to like someone (kucinich) more and others (everyone else) less. oh well. i'm not usually one to brag about much of anything, but i got a 98 on my developmental psych midterm. a 98! i haven't gotten one of those since 5th grade, rad.

41 degrees.

... a perfect temperature to get back to my apartment from 707 and find that my building is having a fire alarm (someone started a fire on the fourth floor). kyle and i sat outside for at least an hour, quite cold, while talking to some people we know the live here too. i thought he was going to have a panic attach re-entering the building because of the mass of people. we're warm now, the building is still standing, and my fish is still swimming. goodnight.

i'll try this out.

so, i'm trying out this interneat blog thing. seems like it will be somewhat fun/productive. i think i'm going to try to post one picture a day (starting tomorrow) from my cell phone to keep it relatively interesting.

today was stale... in my intellectual heritage class we're talking about Krishna and the Baghadvad-Gita (sp?). kyle and i went to a feminist majority meeting tonight which was alright. we were discussing an organization that is coming to temple tomorrow and wednesday to protest, called the Genocide Awareness Project (GAP). basically, they compare abortion to such historical atrocities as the holocaust and black lynching in the south. obviously, i, as well as many other people, see how ridiculous that statement is, so there are going to be some sweet counter protests. i'm leaving my apartment now to ride down to 707 fairmount (the house of matt, sean, tyler, john, and bryan) to write some music with kyle and sean. apparently simone developed the pictures she took from the beach clean up, so i'll be posting those also as soon as she sends them to me.
